Key Features

Various zirconium oxides exhibit exceptional high strength and toughness due to its ability to undergo transformational volume expansion when placed under load.

Zirconium oxide has a high refractive index (RI) along with not absorbing visible light, making it an excellent component in optical applications to modify the RI of the part.

The products melting point is close to 2700^oC meaning any ceramic components made from the material remain largely unchanged as temperatures are applied.

Zirconium oxides when sintered into a ceramic body can conduct oxygen ions, allowing measurements of their concentration in a gas stream.
